We created animated video guides for the Google Ads support pages – teaching users how best to begin their online advertising journey.

Animation that teaches the audience how to use powerful software presents a unique challenge in education – when a platform is comprehensive, how do you onboard users without overwhelming them?
This project is a great example of making effective decisions on audience understanding.
The careful balance between fidelity and readability means even when showing each screen of the product UI we have to ask ourselves: “Do we need to show this button as it appears, or just a representation of it?”

The result is a clean and straightforward tutorial that offers broader screen context, but focussing on individual buttons and form elements as required.

Building a new product, the Google Workspace team had the opportunity to address common frustrations customers faced in their digital work lives. We made a video for the announcement of a new, improved Google hub for collaboration; from a company that so many of us rely on to make work simple. User feedback lead the development of the new Google Workspace, and in turn our promo – we built an animation that imitates a UX design journey from lofi mockups to hi fidelity renders, the product responding to feature requests and user feedback as it’s built with users in mind.

Google Science Fair was an annual science competition searching for the next generation of bright, young scientists and enigneers. Working in a team on a short deadline, the typical production process was condensed to three stages, with one day on each stage: high fidelity styleframes, animation, amends. The videos for each finalist to be played at an an event where our animation announced each final project, who had conducted the experiment and the outcome.

Automatically generated itineraries for your favourite city destinations? Google’s new trip organisation app creates plans with reservations, things to do, food & drink and more. Before the shoot I was given a rough storyboard and pre-access to the Google Trips app. Using screenshots and recordings, I recreated the existing app UI and motion in Adobe Illustrator and After Effects – reformatting it wide for the full screen shots.
